How to Beat the Post-Wedding Blues
Your wedding day may be over, but that’s no reason to suffer those post-wedding blues! From starting a new passion project to finding little ways to relive those wedding memories, here are three great tried-and-tested ways to celebrate the days after your big “I do.”
1. Start a new project
Your wedding had essentially been your passion project for months (and maybe even for more than a year!). It’s perfectly normal to feel a little down after the big day, so now is the perfect time to start a new project or learn a new skill! Tackle a DIY for your home, teach yourself how to cook or start training for a 10K – wherever your interests lie, you can easily discover a new place to pour your passion and find fulfillment in your progress.
2. Host a Thank You get-together for your wedding party
Debunk the myth that once you’re married you’ll never see your friends again. Rehash the big day and show appreciation for all of the time and money your friends spent during your engagement by treating them to a mani-pedi afternoon, a fancy cocktail night in your new home, or sunny game day brews.
3. Watch your wedding film
Ok, this one is a no-brainer but how can you resist reliving all of the excitement and happiness, especially if you can revisit all the memories in movement and sound? Cozy up on the couch and take a few minutes to let it all come back. Remember how lucky you are to have such amazing friends and family supporting you on that day…and every day long after you’ve exchanged your wedding vows.
Your wedding day is over but there’s still so much to look forward to as you start on this new journey as a married couple! But in the meantime, if you still crave all things wedding, at least there’s our vast library of wedding films to peruse. Know of friends who are beginning their own wedding journeys? Help them get started here!
