From Bumble to a High Line Hotel Wedding in NYC
From meeting on Bumble to a proposal overlooking the hills of the Tuscan town of Volterra at sunset, Vanessa and Jeff’s love story came full circle at their elegant High Line Hotel wedding in New York City.
“We knew we wanted to get married in New York City and wanted a venue that everyone hadn’t been to a million times before; we also knew that we wanted to get married in a church,” she shares. The High Line Hotel became a no-brainer for the bride, as it featured a stunning chapel right on the grounds. “You can walk from the chapel to the reception hall in literally two minutes. In addition to being breathtaking, it made it so easy for guests!” she adds.
We’ve seen so many bridal gowns in our work experience, but Vanessa’s high-neck Pronovias lace dress took our breath away. In keeping with her family’s tradition, she wore her veil throughout the ceremony as well as the entire evening. To further incorporate family elements into her wedding, she carried her grandmother’s blue rosary beads and her grandfather’s embroidered handkerchief as her “something blue” as well as wore rings belonging to each of her grandmothers on her right hand.
The ceremony inside the spacious chapel was traditional and elegant, and once the wedding moved into High Line Hotel’s ballroom, the dramatic flair leveled up yet still keeping in line with the elegant, classic ambiance. Towering cherry blossom branches suspending tea lights in glass globes were enhanced by the vaulted ceilings and ambient lighting of the space. A color palette of muted whites and creams set a sleek, sophisticated look at the long tables illuminated by candlelight from small votives.
When asked about sharing advice to newly engaged couples on the planning process, Vanessa eagerly offers some insight. “It can be frustrating when you put so much time and effort into planning every little detail, but the truth is, the only thing that actually matters is that you’re marrying the person you love,” she shares. “Cliché but accurate!”
