Meet White Elephant Events, Wedding Planner!

We love spreading the word about our fellow amazing wedding vendors! Meet White Elephant Events, a full-service event planning company based out of New York City! We recently partnered with the company on a fabulous Dolce & Gabbana-inspired shoot and couldn’t help circling back to chat with Tatiana Ciccarelli, founder of White Elephant Events. Check out our interview with her below!

1. What made you decide to go into wedding planning/design?

I love a well planned, well executed event and am a big fan of all things artistic and creative. Event planning and design really seemed like an easy choice for me. I have a background in Fine Art and it’s been a great way to embrace the creative process while making clients and couples extremely happy.

2. What is your favorite part of the planning process?

My favorite part is getting to know the clients. I love the unique personalities this job allows me to interact with. Everyone has a story and planning is where we collaborate on a story board for the event. It’s very cool.

3. Where do you pull your inspiration from when you help plan a wedding?

I’m an inspiration sponge. I’m actually answering this questionnaire from the Mediterranean and thinking how awesome the blues of the sea are and how amazing they would look on a table with some big white flowers. Having an artistic background definitely helps. Plus, I come from a family of designers so I guess it’s in the blood. My imagination is endless and I love working with clients who have an open mind and want to explore unique details, with an elegant twist of course.

4. What advice do you have for couples in the initial stages of wedding planning?

I always tell couples to stay true to their first impressions and gut feelings. Planning a wedding can start to feel a lot like a group project and too many voices can drown out the only one that matters: yours.

5. What’s the number one reason you recommend hiring a wedding planner?

I love the saying “Measure Twice, Cut Once”. It always helps to have an extra, objective set of eyes (ears, hands, shoulders…) to make sure everything runs smoothly and take the pressure off of the client. I’m there to be the voice of reason, crying baby whisperer, mother in law blockade. You’re there to enjoy and be present in the moment.
