Lucy and Alex both grew up in and around New York. They met seven years ago at Washington University in St. Louis, and have spent the majority of their relationship living happily together in the City That Never Sleeps. They wanted their wedding to feel timeless, romantic, and above all, very New York. They searched long and hard to find the perfect venue and were so happy to secure their date at The Bowery Hotel. The Bowery has such a unique and beautiful aesthetic with its medieval/moroccan feel, Lucy and Alex knew they wouldn’t have to do much besides enhance what was already there. They chose their colors and decor to compliment both the feel of the venue and the early summer season: the greens and blush pinks brought out the beauty of the lush velvet curtains, terracotta floors, and the gorgeous blooms outside. For the reception they chose long tables spanning the entire length of the hall, floral arrangements of varying heights, and lots and lots of candles. The dancing took place after dinner in an adjoining room with the beautiful green tile fireplace as a backdrop. Guests danced until the very end and the amazing Silver Arrow Band certainly left them wanting more! A final treat before the exodus to the after-party was the delicious Momofuku Milk Bar cake, topped with a very special Bunny and Bear.
