If you’ve ever wondered who was behind Katy Perry’s iconic fruit-inspired outfits that she wore during her breakout years, let us introduce you to Julie Mollo!
Originally working in stagewear fashion design, Julie Mollo is now known for her super fun, sparkly accessories and clutches. You may have seen her line in Macy’s and Nordstrom, or perhaps your best friend even gave out a Julie Mollo creation as a bridesmaid gift!
Julie and her team set themselves apart because they love getting super creative with the bags and accessories, allowing for full customization of name personalization and colors. “We can do anything to make your sparkly clutch dreams come true!” she enthusiastically exclaims. “My clutches are the cutest, most unique, most sparkly, and most affordable customized options out there!”
Thanks to a recent WeddingPro industry mixer, we got the chance to connect with Julie in person, and after learning a little bit about her business (yay #girlboss), we naturally just had to have her as our next wedding vendor highlight! Read on for more!
When was the first moment you knew you wanted to do this for your career?
So, I started my business in stagewear and fashion and had no intention of getting into accessories. The moment I started selling clutches, I saw how easy it was for everyone to have a part of my line for such an inexpensive price and how much everyone loved them and I knew I was going to be pivoting my business.
What is your favorite wedding film?
Off the top of my head — The Wedding Planner!

Why do you love what you do?
I love going to work every morning and making sparkly items that bring joy to all of my customers. I love being able to reach such a wide range of people with my price point and I love knowing that I’ve made so many people’s lives a little more fun 🙂

How do you decompress after a hard day?
Netflix and chill. Like really Netflix and chill. Not “Netflix and chill [wink wink]”
Tell us about a turning point for your business!
The biggest turning point of the last few years has been getting picked up in department stores and reaching so many more customers. My clutches are sold in super-fun sections of both Macy’s and Nordstrom and have become super recognizable across the nation!

Red!
What is your go-to drink of choice?
“titos-soda-three-limes”
What advice do you have for couples about hiring a vendor in your category?
HAVE FUN! This should be applied to every part of a couple’s wedding and not just my category, though!
