Sun, sun and more California sun! The timing couldn’t have been more perfect for Sheena and Adam’s wedding day. They set their photo session perfectly in the middle of the golden hour. More on this in the advice section at the end of this article!

Cutting-Edge Wedding Style

Wedding trends come and go but Sheena and Adam’s wedding was so ahead of its time that it’s still looking trendy today. The couple nailed it with bouquets dipping with eucalyptus and king protea, a spaghetti strap wedding gown (yes, the 90’s are back and we love it!), a blue suit and mix and match bridesmaids dresses in the ever-so-flattering shade of blush.

These two were just on the cusp of the geometric wedding decor trend with their killer wood and string ceremony backdrop. We love how they moved it inside and set it behind their sweetheart table for the reception. Our description doesn’t give this amazing art installation justice so make sure you press play!

And before we move on–let’s stop to talk about the ribbons on the bridesmaids’ bouquets! This is a newer trend that our whole team is loving because of the romantic touch it adds to already beautiful bouquets. We love how Sheena’s bouquet has a few darker blue ribbons to coordinate with Adam’s suit, while her maids have a couple light blue ribbons.

I love when couples write their own vows. It’s just an awesome way to add a personal touch to your wedding ceremony and ultimately, your wedding film. 

These two wrote adorable vows to each other. We love when Adam shares his thoughts about his new wife and how she has helped him grow:

California Dreaming

We kinda can’t get over the amazing live oak trees winding and towering over this ceremony location. What a dreamy place for a wedding! Hazy, golden rays streak through the trees as they walk around the gorgeous Descanso Gardens wedding venue in La Cañada Flintridge, California. 

If you haven’t seen this venue yet, it’s definitely worth exploring in person. If that’s not an option, browsing through the photos in Google will have to do! Either way, you can close your eyes and feel the warmth!

Not only is it a magical time to be outside, but it makes everyone’s skin look flawless. It bounces beautifully off of wedding gowns.
