Classic Washington DC Wedding at the Ritz Carlton in Georgetown

Our #1 Reason to Watch this Artistic Washington DC Wedding Video

My number one reason to watch this Washington DC wedding video is actually three reasons. It’s the combination of this song (which I love! — more on that later), the couple’s vow reading by the officiant and the moment right after they share their first kiss. BRING ON THE ROMANCE!

All This Time We’ve Been Waiting for Each Other

Every time I hear this song, it gets me. “All This Time” is by OneRepublic–a band I’ve never been crazy about, but they really killed it with this tune. I also have a special place in my heart for ballads because I’m a singer! It builds slowly with a steady piano line.

Dressed to Impress

Can we just take a sec to talk about the Mother of the Bride’s dress? You’ll see her with her chic white pixie cut in the ceremony background and again during the speeches. She’s wearing a pink champagne gown with a wrap dress neckline. The cut is so flattering and the fabric has a golden sheen to it. Well done, Mom!

Her daughter follows suit in an a-line ballgown with a multi-tiered organza skirt. I love how the lace back is sheer. It adds a unique touch to an otherwise classic wedding dress. Adam sticks with the classic tux and a white bowtie.

Wedding Tips for Vows

Love the idea of writing your own personal vows but feel like you might be too choked up to get the words out when the day finally rolls around? Take a tip from Nikki and Adam who had their officiant say their vows for them.

If that doesn’t appeal to you, you can always say standard vows at the altar (you know, the “for richer or poorer” ones) and write your heartfelt thoughts in cards that you give each other the morning before the wedding. This is also a great option if you’re worried about crying your makeup off!

The Ritz Carlton in Georgetown, Washington DC

We love the Ritz Carlton in Washington DC because this particular location is right next to the water in Georgetown. Nikki and Adam find a few perfect spots along the cobblestone streets to stop for photos before making their way inside.

Floating candles in tiered vases grace the tabletops of this elegant hotel wedding. Gorgeous white flowers are scattered everywhere. The purple and blue uplighting casts a dreamy hue over the entire interior of the ballroom, setting an intimate scene for a rather large group of guests.

Wedding Advice: Classic Weddings Never Age

My biggest takeaway from Nikki and Adam’s Georgetown wedding is that if you stick with classic elements, your wedding will never look dated. A-line gowns, standard tuxedos, white curtain chuppahs, white bouquets and luxury hotels never go out of style.

We could leave this wedding video on our portfolio for a few years and no one would be able to guess when the wedding was. If you’re a classic couple who wants to look back at your day without any distractions, keep your wedding simple and you’ll always love watching your wedding film.
